WNKC AM radio is a legal, unlicensed radio broadcaster located in the rural, agricultrual community of Hartford City, Indiana in the east central part of the state. WNKC uses a FCC approved Chez Radio Procaster and is certfied to operate with the following FCC certfication ID: VCJ-AMTX100.
Hundreds and probably several thousand people now broadcast with transmitters such as this around the country which falls under FCC Part 15 AM rules. Maximum power is set at 100 milliwatts with a short antenna and ground system allowed. A properly installed transmitter will achieve range varying from a half mile to several miles depending upon the ground conductivity in different areas of the country and also transmitter and antenna height.
